Dancing

Our family is a little goofy...especially since we got an Alexa.  Bryan likes to ask her to play all kinds of songs which turns into someone dancing in the kitchen.  This night it was Courtney and Bryan then Courtney and Ethan.  It was hilarious!

Ethan tries to look all stuck up while he is dancing which makes it even more hilarious!

Team Lisa

Bryan wanted to do something so the family could show their support to his sister, Lisa, who is battling cancer.  He came up with the idea for Team Lisa.  We bought everyone hats and asked them to send us a selfie of them wearing their Team Lisa hats.  I put the pictures into a collage and sent the collage, along with Lisa's family's hats to her as a surprise.  It was so fun!

Now, any time we are out and about, we can take pictures in our Team Lisa hats and send them to her so she knows how much we love her!

He's official!

Junior Prom

Ethan and I didn't go to Great-Grandpa Pack's 99th birthday party because Ethan had PROM!!

The boys had planned a fun day for their dates.  They started out in the morning with a game of Nerf gun wars through the hallways of the high school.

Here he is on his way to pick up his date:

Starting their Nerf gun wars.  They played this for a long time!!  They had a blast running all over playing games.

When they finished up with Nerf wars, they drove to Ethan's favorite restaurant (Cafe Allure) to eat lunch.  I had made reservations for them to go bowling at 1:00 but they didn't finish at the high school until about 1:00 then they had to go and eat.  They ended up going bowling anyway but only bowled one game instead of two.  But they had a blast.

Ethan came home, showered, changed and got ready for the night part of the date.  I have a friend in our ward who makes corsages.  She learned how for her son's wedding and found that she really likes making them.  I would rather pay a friend than a big store, so I asked her to make the corsage for Ethan's date.  She did a great job.

She even included a small charm of a "J" which is the first letter of Ethan's date's name, so she could keep it and remember her prom date.  I thought that was a great touch!

When they were all ready to go, Ethan went and picked up his date for pictures.  Luckily his date lives in our neighborhood so her mom sent me all kinds of pics from when he picked her up.  A couple of the other girls got ready at her house so they all were in the pics too.

We are trying to teach him that when you have two gorgeous girls on your arms you need to FLEX!

I loved the tie he picked out.

I had arranged with a photographer to take their pictures at Ivins Reservoir.  I LOVE it out there because the views are amazing.  It was a beautiful day and the lighting was perfect.  She did a great job and took pics of all the kids with their dates.  They turned out really cute and I love the reflection of the red mountains off the water in the background.

Then they all went back to one of the boy's houses for dinner.  I was asked to help plate the food so I took twice baked potatoes and rolls over and helped serve. It was such a fancy dinner! They had steak, twice baked potatoes, carrots, asparagus, salad, rolls, and cake, along with sparkling cider. Talk about spoiled.

They still had a lot of time before the dance started (they had to do pics early because it gets dark so soon) so they played around and we got pictures.

We call this the hovering hand picture because Ethan isn't sure what to do with his hand so it's just hovering over her arm. ;)  He's a great kid!!

When it was finally time, they went to the dance, had a blast, then went to another boy's house for dessert before they had to drive their dates home.  When Ethan got home he said he had a lot of fun.

This was his first date and I'm glad it went so well and he was able to go with a fun group of friends!  I am so grateful for how blessed we are to live where we do.  The kids have grown up with some amazing examples in neighbors, leaders, and friends.  I am so grateful!

Baby love

Courtney and Bryan drove to Provo/Salt Lake area to Great-Grandpa Pack's 99th birthday party on January 19th.  On their way, they stopped at the hospital to see the new addition to the Pack family...Thomas.  Courtney was in heaven holding the little baby and he is so darling!  She couldn't resist sending me pictures showing her holding him.  You can tell by her smile how thrilled she was to hold the little guy and how much in love she is with the baby.

Welcome to the family!!

Decorating for Christmas

We went pretty simple for decorations this Christmas.  We put the tree in the corner, which worked out really well, then decorated the entertainment center.  Courtney had a tree in her bedroom but Ethan wanted it simple with just a small decoration in his.  Bryan bought one of those lights that shines on the outside of the house, and then we were set.

Courtney got to put the star on top.

Ethan put the train together and got it set up under the tree.

Voila!

Young Women Recognition Award

Courtney worked hard and with the December deadline looming, she finished her Young Women Recognition Award!  I was so happy for her.  Our previous bishop made the young women bear their testimonies but our new bishop doesn't do that.  They tried to get her to stand up in Sacrament Meeting but she wasn't having any of that!  She just turned bright red and tried to sink down in the pew. I am so happy for her and the work she did on her award.

I loved putting her name on the plaque in the hallway of the Stake Center!

Dancing

Ethan started doing a little dance and Courtney couldn't resist joining in.  I took a video but I won't post it.  These kids are hilarious and I love their personalities!

The dance involved bobbing from side to side while clapping and turning around once in a while.  He's getting his moves on for Junior Prom this week. haha!

My parents took us to dinner, so that was really nice.  It was a good, relaxing birthday.

He-Man

Ethan likes to see how many grocery bags he can carry at one time.  This time he got all but one bag of the weekly groceries in ONE TRIP (Courtney took the eggs in)!

Just call him He-Man!

Back to School

You can tell when it's back to school time for Ethan....he gets another swag bag from Dixie State.  This year it has a tshirt in it, but I don't know if he has even opened it so he may not know that.

Gray

Did you know that it is super difficult to find a plain gray color?!

These are all gray:

That, my friends, is why you test paint before you paint an entire wall.  The color I thought I would really like is actually the green on the bottom!  We decided to paint the ceiling, doors and baseboards in our bedroom/bathroom/closet, the white and then the walls the gray that is to the left and below the white.

Who knew?
