Fatman's Misery

The Priests went on Fatman's Misery again and they asked Bryan to go.  He said he would only go if he could take Courtney.  I think one of the leaders (who wasn't even going on the hike and has taken Deacons before) was a little reluctant but we knew she would be fine.  The other leaders said they would worry about the boys before they would worry about Courtney.  And Ethan did a great job taking care of his little sister.  She did amazing!  She had so much fun but she did get banged up a bit.  Her hand got caught between the rope and the rock wall and she got scrapes, but she had a lot of fun.

Bryan has more pics on his phone that I'll have to get off some time, then you could see her jump in the gross pool of water and all kinds of stuff.

Ivins Reservoir

Ivins Reservoir, also named Fire Lake Park, is a fun place to go to cool off in the summer.  We didn't go too many times this summer but we did go enough to have fun.  They now have showers, flush toilets, and grass out there so it makes it even more fun.  And the view isn't bad either.

Exhausted Courtney

Courtney went to soccer practice Monday through Thursday at 6:30-8:30 or 9:00 am and then she went to Acceleration on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12-1:00 pm.  This was starting to drain her and she learned to once again nap.  She was so exhausted that she would go into her room to read or to listen to music and I would find her like this....

Veyo Pool

While Grandma and Grandpa Pack were here, we went to Veyo Pool where we swam and also rock climbed.  Bryan, Courtney, Ethan, and Grandpa went climbing.  They had a lot of fun.  I know there are more pictures, but I'm not sure where they are.  So here are the ones I do have.

Eagle Project

Ethan had his Eagle Project in June.  He lead a group who built a trail at the Snake Hollow Bike Park.  Grandma and Grandpa Pack came from Colorado to help.  Grandma and Grandpa Oman, Don and Kathy, and a bunch of other people came to help.  He had a great turnout.  Between the Ward and the Mountain Bike Team he had around 30 people show up to help.  It only took them 2 hours to finish the whole thing.  It was amazing!  Now, he just needs to finish some other merit badges and he will be finished with his Eagle!!  He had comments that he did a great job leading.

Girls Camp

The girls went "glamping" for girls camp.  They went to Buckhorn Ranch by Heber and stayed in a really nice cabin that was actually more like a mansion.  They rode horses, went on a zipline, did a service project, went to Lagoon, went paddleboarding in a pond, and went to the Provo City Center Temple.  She had so much fun and the leaders did an amazing job!

Here are the cute Mia Maids before they left.

Ethan vs The Cactus

Ethan went to mountain bike practice and he was using the clip ins for the first (and last) time.  At one point he fell over.  He said it kind of hurt but he just got up, clipped back in, and continued on his ride.  He got in the van and was on his way home when he brushed his calf and felt something.  He pulled a 2 inch long cactus needle out of his leg!!  He hadn't realized it was in his leg during the ride but afterward he felt something.  CRAZY!

We had to take a picture of it with Courtney's finger for reference.  You can see how far it was in his leg because of the blood.  I had to frame it because it was just such a crazy story.

He hasn't used clips since!

Haircuts

Ethan and Courtney got haircuts!  Ethan really needed one as you can tell from all the hair on the floor when he was done....

Courtney and her cute new do.
