Photos - whales, eagles and fish!

Here are some pictures from our vacation that weren't on my phone so I couldn't blog them.

Whale Watching:
Bryan had great timing on this one because it just
popped up when he snapped.

We saw a baby and it's mom.
Courtney's orca photo.
See the mist?  That's a whale.
Icy Strait Point:

Ethan took this photo of the eagle.
It was so green and I loved taking picture of the rain forest.

Day 12 - Flying Home

It is time to go back to reality. We woke up, packed up, said goodbye to everyone and headed to the SeaTac airport. We returned our rental car, got through security and found our gate.

The kids played card Life game while I blogged and Bryan worked.
We flew from Seattle to San Diego. There wasn't anything unusual about the flight. Courtney watched a movie and Ethan played games.

San Diego...

We had a layover so we got dinner and then, after a brief delay, we were off again.

We landed in Las Vegas without a problem, got our luggage and called the shuttle. We had to wait a while but it all worked out and we were headed home. I was shocked by the 106 degree heat after the great weather of Alaska.

We got home about 10:30 pm. We unpacked, started a load of laundry and then crashes. What a great vacation!!!

Day 11 - Seattle

We woke up, got ready and all headed to downtown Seattle. We wanted to go to the Space Needle and see Pikes Place Market.

We found parking and walked to the Space Needle.

We got tickets but had time to look around before we had to get in line. We saw Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper. The kids put money in his can so they could get a picture when them.

We saw a magic show which was really cool but we never saw how he got untied because we had to leave to get in line.
The Soace Needle was great. You could see all over Seattle.

We loaded back in the cars and drive to Pike Street. We are different food from Te vendors. The sour dough bread was great!
We got free ice cream.
We watched men throwing fish.
We saw beautiful flowers.
And ended at the gum wall.
Gross!!
We went back to Julie's house for dinner and the kids played. They had fun jumping on the trampoline and being together.

We went to bed late but had a great day!!

Day 10 - Off the Ship and to Seattle

We woke up in Canada. It was very pretty.
We finished packing and went to breakfast. We met everyone in the theatre to wait for our turn to get off the ship. That is the worst part of the entire cruise. It takes forever to get off the ship. But we finally did. We went through customs and had to wait for a bus to take us to the Seattle Airport.

This is Vancouver...

Courtney was worn out.
We finally got to the US border and had to sit for a long time while they searched the bus because they detected radiation on the bus.
It took about an hour to get through customs and back on the road. We took a party break and they had an old pay phone.

The bus ride was 3 hours and then we were in Seattle.

They dropped everyone at the Sea-Tac airport. We got our luggage, said goodbye and were off to find the shuttle to the rental car lot. The line was really long but it went fast. We got the car and were off for Julie's house. MapQuest took us quite a ways off and it too is forever, but we finally got there!

Courtney went to a teen party at Brooke's new middle school while the rest of us went to the lake house to hang out. We had a blast burning leaves and playing around. Their house is being built and will be amazing with a wonderful view and backyard.

We roasted hotdogs and ate s'mores. We had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone. The kids explored an we watched the fire burn.

When it got late, we went back to their house, showered, washed our smoky clothes and went to bed. We were all exhausted.

Day 9 - Day at Sea

We didn't do a whole lot on our day at sea. We looked at Canada going by, ate food, and went to the debarkation meeting.

Courtney went up and tried the climbing wall. It was so cold that her hands hurt while she was climbing.
There were some fun islands we passed.
We goofed off.
And then we started to pack.

We decided to go to the formal dining room one last time. In hind sight we wished we wouldn't have because the food was much better at the Windjammer. Oh well.

Ethan ate calamari and then scored with 2 desserts! He loved it.

Courtney went to the kids club for a pj movie party. She was so excited to watch the movie and hang out. We went and got her at 9 pm and went to the hot tub to relax. We were the only people in the pool area. I think everyone else was packing.
