Orchestra Festival

I went as a chaperone for the music festival the intermediate orchestra was invited to attend.  It was in Hurricane at the high school.  They did well and sounded really good.

They played the same songs as the night before in the concert so I won't post those again but this is the last song that they played all together.  These are orchestras from all the cone sites in the School District so it was really cool!

Orchestra Concert

Once a year there is a "cone site" orchestra concert where all the schools in our cone site show off.  It was great to hear how the Intermediate school orchestra stacks up with the older orchestras.  They sounded great.

All the orchestras together:

KINnect YOU!

There was an amazing youth activity in March for all the youth in the St. George area.  There were 27 Stakes invited to the KINnect YOU! youth activity.  It was a lot of work to pull off and our wards weren't very happy with me for a while because they had to do an activity in preparation for the big event, but it was so worth it!

There were around 4,000 youth all in one place to have a family history fair/EFY on crack experience.  It was amazing the Spirit they were able to feel and how excited they got.

The YM from our Ward:

DSU hosted the event.  There were classes, great speakers, a world record which was broken, lunch, a James the Mormon concert, and a great time had.  It was really long (too long) but for the pilot program, it went well.

For one of the activities they had an interactive scavenger hunt and this was one of the entries.  Unfortunately, there were a ton of glitches so the majority of the kids couldn't get it to work but I have this of Ethan:

Ethan

I have actually really enjoyed having a teenager.  There have been moody moments but he is hilarious.  This is his favorite position to read in:

Ethan hates to dress up and so when I told him he needed to dress a little nicer for a youth activity, he did this:

Yes, that is a tie with his shirt and shorts. Ugh!  I gave up after this.

Courtney

Courtney loves taking pictures with my phone so I can have a cute one of her.  This was the latest one I found:

No, you aren't looking up Courtney's nose (although you just did, didn't you!?!).  I had to put makeup on her for a dance competition and was once again struck by how long her eyelashes are!  She didn't think they were very long so I had to take this picture to show her. The problem is that they don't curl!  So they stick straight out and we have tried an eyelash curler and they just don't want to curl.  Oh well.

Soccer Game

I don't know what person put together the soccer schedule for Courtney's league but they put the first game on the Saturday of Spring Break!  It was so dumb.  Our coach had to drive back 3 days early from California (where she was with her mom who has cancer) just to coach the game and...the other team didn't show up!  They didn't call or text or try to change the game.  They just didn't show up without any notice.  It was so maddening.

The girls didn't mind too much because they just moved the goals so they were closer and then played a game against each other with parents playing goalies.  It was hilarious to watch and they had a lot of fun.

We ended up winning the game by forfeit.

Play time with the Packs

Andrew, Jessica and Clara came down to play for a few days during our Spring Break.  The kids loved it and had so much fun playing with Clara. They got to play at the park, cuddle Clara, go to the water park, and go to the Children's Museum.  It was great to have them visit!

Ethan couldn't resist watching a baseball game while we played at the park.

Courtney had fun babysitting Clara while Andrew and Jessica went to Zion to hike.  She loves kids and has so much fun taking care of them.  After a while, Clara didn't want anyone but Courtney and that made Courtney's day!

Although Ethan was resistant at first, he had a great time at the Children's Museum.  We haven't been there for a few years and there was a lot that was the same but looked different because the kids were so much bigger now.

Ethan started playing "cashier" for Clara to buy her groceries and ended up having more customers.  It was hilarious because he wasn't quite sure what to do until a mom volunteered to take over.

Some other fun things we did:

President Pack behind the desk in the Oval Office room.

The last time he flew this plane he could fit better in the cockpit!

We ended up at the new All Abilities Park where the kids played in the water.  It was pretty cold water!
