New Carpet

We got new carpet!  I am so excited because we haven't had new carpet since we built our house in 2006.  We had to move all the furniture ourselves so Bryan was busy doing that.  We moved the dresser in our closet and found this little guy...

He's fake!  But it made me pause for a minute.

The carpet looks amazing and our bedroom and sitting room now are not separated by a break in the carpet where the wall once was.  So that's great.

Dutch Oven

Our ward was having a BBQ party and they had a couple of competitions.  Bryan said that fruit cobbler would be a more popular dessert than chocolate.  I was shocked so Ethan and I decided to prove him wrong.  Bryan and Courtney made a peach cobbler and entered it into the competition while Ethan and I made a chocolate dessert and entered it.

They were both really yummy and, for the sake of family unity, the bishopric didn't choose either of our desserts to win.  I think we ended up tied or something.  But I still think dutch oven chocolate dessert is the bomb!

Pedicures

The Mia Maids gave the Sunbeams pedicures and it was so cute!  The little girls thought they had died and gone to heaven.  I love these kinds of activities.

Fake Tan

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, you have been there.  You want a tan but don't want skin cancer or you want the tan fast.  So you buy self-tanner and hope for the best.  Well, Courtney had been complaining about her "weird soccer tan" so I bought some high-end self-tanner. (For those who don't know, a soccer tan is when you are only tan around your knees because you have shorts and then high soccer socks.) We exfoliated and then went for it.  But the key to using these things is to use them sparingly.  We did not do that.  So the next day her legs were orange and her feet looked perma-dirty.  Good thing it washes off easily when you exfoliate again.  Next time we will use less lotion and hope for the best.

Team Lisa

We like to represent the team no matter where we are and document it!  This was at a soccer game and I'm pretty sure I was freezing.

Preference

Ethan has a fun day date with his Preference date. I wasn’t home so Courtney took the picture. They went to someone’s house and played games.  One of the games was cup pong and when someone got the balk in the cup, they would choose someone who would have to eat whatever was written on the bottom. Ethan’s date got a ball in and she chose him. They lifted the cup and it said “sardines.” Yuck!! But he ate them. They were covered with mustard. He said they weren’t so bad.

After lunch, they all came home to get ready for the dance. We got a tie to match the dates dress and I think it looks really good! Cute kids.

Science

If you wonder what Ethan does all the time at Success Academy, here is a little taste.  They do egg drops, design prosthetic legs out of PVC pipe, and build paper boats (more on that later).
