Finally...it's her birthday!

Courtney had to start school on her birthday, which wasn't fun, but she started with a Texas donut and presents!

Courtney got to open presents before going to school.  She got a new soccer bag from Ethan.

Family birthday party

We had a family dinner for Courtney's birthday.  We ate dinner (roast and potatoes), opened presents then had cake/ice cream.  We celebrated Grandma Oman's birthday too!

You can tell that Courtney really liked her presents.

Friend birthday party

Courtney wanted something low-key so she had a movie birthday party.  She invited friends and they watched "Jumanji", ate junk food, and laughed...a lot!  Then they had cupcakes and Courtney opened presents.

Courtney received some fun presents - candy, succulents, pop tarts, etc.  Her friends know her so well.  It was fun to watch her open her presents.  They all have such expressive faces!

                 

Water Party

Every year the orthodontist office hosts a huge water party at the Washington City Community Center.  A TON of people show up for the free food, drinks, and swim party.  It's crazy.  Courtney invited her best friend so she would have someone to swim with.  There was a bubble machine and they had a lot of fun in it.

            

Ethan's first water party after braces:

Burned towel

I was at work one day when Courtney got a craving for mashed potatoes.  She put a pot of water on the stove, put potatoes in it, and started the burner.  When it was finished boiling and ready to be taken off the stove, Courtney used a towel instead of a hotpad and this happened...



Yup, the towel caught on fire.  Luckily she was smart enough to put it in the sink and start the water so it doused the flames.  But it could have been so much worse.  Crazy girl!

Courtney's braces

Bryan took Courtney to get her braces on.  I took a pic of her before I went to work so we would have a "Before" pic.

Soccer Team!!!

Courtney made the high school soccer team!!  After a long summer or soccer workouts and Acceleration, they had 3 days of tryouts.  Courtney had a rough day the first day but the other two days went really well.  But he was still nervous about whether or not she would make it.  Bryan was certain she would so he wasn't worried at all.

The roster was supposed to be posted at 10 am so we were all watching for it to show on their website.  Bryan saw it first and texted Courtney to ask if she had looked.  She refreshed and looked but thought it was in alphabetical order by last name so she thought she didn't make it because there wasn't anything in the "P".  Then she realized it was by first name and FOUND HER NAME.  She was so excited!!  She texted me and I was in a meeting but I got so excited and actually cried.  I was so happy for her.

So all her years of soccer have paid off!  I am so happy for her.

The best part: her 2 best friends also made it!!
