I love where we live. Yes, it is super hot during the summer (I'm just grateful I wasn't a pioneer who didn't have AC in St. George!) but it is beautiful in the mornings when the temperature is right and it is quiet.
Courtney has some great young women leaders who are game for anything. They didn't know what to do for the activity and Courtney suggested they go to Ivins Reservoir (Fire Lake Park). So they went. This was the second day in a row Courtney had been to a reservoir but she had a blast.
I am grateful for her leader who posts everything they do online so we can see it! Courtney is on the left.
Now that some of Courtney's friends have driver's licenses, they have the freedom to be able to do fun activities in the summer. Courtney and 2 of her friends decided to go to Gunlock Reservoir to play in the water and paddleboard.
They took chairs, an umbrella, and had a great time...until the cows decided to get involved. The girls think the cows were getting ready to charge and so they got on the paddleboards and got away.
Here's the cow attack so you can judge for yourself:
These girls are so fun! Courtney and Kooper have the "soccer tan" going on, so they are trying to get to the reservoir each week to attempt to get rid of it. Courtney is on the right.
When they finished, they went to McDonald's to get slushies. Kooper's uncle owns the McDonald's they went to, so they got the royal treatment. They had such a fun afternoon and are going to make it a regular weekly tradition.
They packed up a lot earlier than they told us they would, so they were home in the mid-morning instead of 1:00. Courtney was excited to tell me all about youth conference and didn't stop talking for quite a while.
This picture cracked me up!
The kids had a great time. We have an amazing ward and I'm grateful to everyone who worked hard to make this a great time for the youth.
Two members of our ward took their boats to Youth Conference and the kids spent the second day at Lake Mead. They had tubes to float on, paddleboards, kayaks, and the two boats where they were pulled on tubes or wake surfed. Courtney loves the water and had a great time. She went wake surfing twice and had a blast.

Courtney loved wake surfing! She second time she went out, she was able to stay up without the rope and keep up with the boat. Now she wants a boat.
She had a rough start a couple times but she finally got it.
Here are her successful times:

Look! One handed!
The girls had fun floating and just hanging out in the water.
I dropped Courtney off at the Church this morning so she could head out to Youth Conference! It is ward level this year, which she loves a lot better than Stake, and they are going to a member's ranch in Logandale, NV. There are 2 boats going with them and they will spend Thursday at Lake Mead playing with the boats and on the shore. The boys are sleeping in tents and the girls are sleeping in the horse stalls that have been power washed and will have tarps on the ground. It should be a great time!
Here they are loading up. Courtney is in the back, in the middle, behind the kid with the yellow hat on.
This is the first wave of kids to go to Logandale. It's the last day of school and some parents were concerned that their kids were going to miss school, so there is another group going down this afternoon. (They don't do anything on the last day of school, just sit around and drive the teachers nuts as they sign yearbooks, so I had no problem sending Courtney this morning.)
Courtney is in the back, 3rd from the left, with her head tipped as usual. ;)
Youth Conference is a "Cell Phone Free Zone." The couple in charge always take pictures and post them online so I have been getting pictures of their activities all day long.
Here are the girl's sleeping arrangements. Courtney is on the right.
Suns out, guns out! 😂
They are obviously engaged in playing Ultimate Frisbee. haha!
I'm not sure why our Bishop looks so confused, but the girls seem to be having fun.

Cute girlies! Courtney, Maddie, Hayley, Tonya, McKaye, and Lacy.
These cute girls are the ones that shared a horse stall. They had a cricket who took up residence with them but they didn't want him there.
