It is Easter morning and Courtney got a present from the Easter Bunny! She got a basket of candy (including a chocolate dinosaur) and some Chacos. She was pretty excited about what she was given.

Baseboards
It is time to get some baseboards finished in the basement. Baseboards are expensive to buy so we got a 4x8 foot sheet of MDF and then used our table saw to cut it down. When we had them the size we wanted, we sanded the corners to make them softer, then we primed and painted them. It is a long process but it isn't too hard.

Physical therapy
Courtney has been having problems with shin splints and plantar fasciitis. Our neighbor is a physical therapist so I asked her what we should do. She had Courtney go in to see her. She messaged her calves and feet, she zapped (it's like a taser) her calves, and Courtney was given a message.
They then wanted to check Courtney's running gait. So they put Courtney on an antigravity treadmill so they could watch her run.
They discover that Courtney is really pigeon-toed. When she runs, her one foot tends to trip her other foot, so she has had to overcompensate so she doesn't trip herself. They helped Courtney turn her feet so she isn't pigeon-toed and try to get her to keep it that way. I thought it was cool. They didn't keep her on the treadmill too long because of her feet and shin splints. But they have some good data.
We are hoping that the physical therapy will help fix her shin splints and plantar problems so she can play soccer without pain.

Temple trip
We had another youth temple trip. Courtney went along and it was fun to be in the Cedar City temple with her. We didn't have a ton of girls who went but we still had fun together.
Courtney is on the left.

Funeral
It is sad that we have gotten to the point, on the Oman side of my family, that we only see each other at funerals. This was the case when my Aunt Naoima passed away and I went to Castle Dale with my parents for her funeral. It is always good to see family, but it's a sad occasion.
These are the headstones for my Grandma and Grandpa Oman.

Southern Utah Science & Engineering Fair
Courtney's science fair junior project won at the school level so it was sent to the Southern Utah Science & Engineering Fair at Southern Utah University. Ethan went to this fair also but they were required to present in person. This year, the projects were sent on to the fair but the students didn't have to go.
The results were announced and here is how Courtney faired...

Doors for the basement
It is time to put doors in the basement. We had a pro from HomeDepot come out and measure so we would know what to buy. If we bought them through the pro, it would have doubled the price of the doors because they would have installed them. We installed one of the doors and didn't think it was too bad, so we decided to use their measurements and buy/install the doors ourselves.
The old guy at HomeDepot convinced us to save $75 and haul the doors home ourselves in our van. That may not have been the best decision. We bought 12 doors and were able to get 6 of them in the back of our van at once. So it probably didn't save us any money between our time and the cost of gas. Oh well. It was kind of fun to watch the faces of people as they went in HomeDepot and we were loading the doors in our van. They doubted that we would be able to get the doors in the van and would look at us like we were crazy. But, they were always shocked when they would leave HomeDepot and we would have the doors loaded and the back of the van closed!
Now we will have to install them.
This is a door before painting and hanging.
