State Championship Game

It was so COLD!  There was rain and the wind was blowing when we went to the RSL Academy to watch the final game of the season.  The seniors not playing would be sitting on the sideline trying to stay warm.  But they wouldn't be playing in the game.  The cool thing was that the announcer announced every name of the girls on the teams.  So that is a great memory!

The team they played was the defending champions and they were good.  There was a really questionable call that took away our only goal and took away all our momentum.  But the girls played hard in the cold and rain.  They lost but it was such an accomplishment to get to the final game.

All the girls were given a blanket with their name on it so they could stay warm on the bus.  I thought this was a sweet gesture by the team moms.

The senior girls and their parents.  We have been on this journey for the last 4 years together (some of us longer than that) and it is a sad thing to see it end.  But the girls are ready to move on.

Semi final game

The soccer team made it to the semi-finals against Sky Ridge High School.  This game was held in SLC so we drove up to watch.  Bryan and I stayed in a hotel while Courtney stayed in another hotel with the team.  This was a crazy game!  SCHS was losing through most of the game and ended up winning in the last few minutes with some crazy goals.  The girls were so excited and I was so happy for them.

The goofy girls had a great time together.

First game on playoffs

The first game of state soccer was played at SCHS because of the standings.  This was exciting! The game ended up being a blowout with SCHS winning handily.  The seniors were all put in because it was obvious that we were going to win.  That made it a really fun game to watch! Since it is breast cancer awareness month, they made this their "Pink" game.  The girls wore pink ribbons.  It was a nice touch.

Trick-or-Treat for cans

Our YW did a trick-or-treat for cans activity.  It was so successful and amazing to see all the people in our neighborhood who would support their effort.  Snow Canyon High School has a food pantry where the students in need are able to get food.  We wanted to help their effort so we collected food and donated them to the school.  It was much needed and much appreciated.  The week before the activity, we put notes on everyone's doors so they could get their food ready.  Some people had it waiting for the girls on their doorsteps, others waited for the knock don't the door.  It was a fun activity.  The YW leaders were dressed as M&Ms (which really isn't my thing but I participated).

Water break

Bryan texted me one morning to say that he had noticed water flowing from in front of our house. I was on my walk, so when I got home I called Ivins City to tell them there was a water break in front of our house.  I was nervous that it was a break in the line to our house and we were going to have to pay for it. When they got to our house and investigated it, the break was under the street so it was on the City's side.  That meant they would have to pay to have it fixed. The man told me that the pipes under the road in our neighborhood were done strangely so they are going to have to fix all of them eventually.  This makes it so they don't have to worry about ours when the time comes to change them all out.  I think they are just going to wait until they break and do it then.

I was so impressed by how quickly Ivins City was at our house and how quickly they got it fixed.  Our water was shut off for just a short time while they dug holes, put in a new pipe, and got it going again.

It is all fixed.  The road is patched.  The sidewalk they had to break up has been relaid.  And we are good to go and won't have to worry about it again.
