Ethan got a haircut

We noticed that Ethan was looking a little shaggy when we talked to him on Sunday.  He sent me this picture on Thursday saying that he had gotten a haircut.  He's looking good!

It's crazy how easy it is for him to make a haircut appointment.  There's a BYU app that has links to everything on campus.  So he just gets on it and makes an appointment.

Decorating gingerbread houses

The older YW class decorated gingerbread houses for their activity.  I was reminded, when Courtney and Hayley sat next to each other, of another time when they were little and decorated cookies.  I asked them to recreate the picture but they are on opposite sides, oh well.

I can't believe how they have grown up!!

Another lizard

Another squeal, another lizard.  Courtney was not happy about this one because it was in her room this time.  The last one was in the hallway headed for Ethan's room.  But this one was invading her space.  Once again, Bryan was the hero and captured it for release back into the wild.  I don't blame the little guy because it's cold outside but I don't want them in my house!

Ward Christmas party

Our ward usually does a service project for our Christmas party.  I have loved this tradition.  Pre-Covid, we would go to the Utah Food Bank to do service.  But since Covid, they haven't had many opportunities there and we have found another organization to support that is local to our community.  We put together kits for Tams Treats.  It is an organization that gives food to elementary students who wouldn't have food over the weekend.  The kids get a packet of food on Friday that will last them through the weekend until they can come back to school to get food.  It's fabulous for those kids who have struggling parents.

We did our service project last year for this group and made a ton of kits.  This year, the bishopric bought all the items and asked for donations to cover the cost.

On the morning of our party, we went to the Church and there was a Mexican food truck set up.  While half of the ward got their food from the food truck, the other half went to do the service project of putting kits together.  We were in the group doing kits.  It was so much fun.  The kids would grab a grocery bag and they would go down the line of food while the adults would put items in the bag.  It was kind of like trick-or-treating.  We were having so much fun that we finished the project before the other group finished eating.  They missed out but we told them we were doing service for them.

The food at the food truck was really good. They had different options.  I got a breakfast burrito and it was good.  I think this may be our new ward tradition.  No one in the ward had to make food, we did service, and clean up was easy because another ward had a part after ours so we left everything up.

Christmas decorating

It's the first Saturday in December so we set up the Christmas tree and lights on our house.  I think it turned out really well and it was fun to see all the ornaments from years past. We are now ready for Christmas.  And yes, I did have almost all my Christmas shopping done at the beginning of December.  Yeah!

More landscapes

When we were taking Courtney's senior pictures, I decided to take some landscape pictures too.  We went to Firelake Park to take some of the pics so here was our view.

This one is one morning from our front driveway looking at the Red Mountain.  It kind of looks like it's fake, but that's our view.

This was a sunrise over the Santa Clara cemetery.  The colors in the photo don't really do it justice because the sky was so beautiful that morning.

Senior pics

Courtney is having senior pictures taken when it is closer to graduation but she needed a picture to submit to the SCHS yearbook.  She found a dress she liked so we decided to take some time one afternoon and go to Snow Canyon to take pictures.  I think they turned out cute and she found one that she liked to submit to the yearbook.

Enjoy!
