BYU football 1st home game

Ethan went to BYUs first home game for football.  It was crazy because they had to be in line hours and hours before the game began so they could sit with their group.  They played games while waiting in line but Ethan said it was a long wait.

When they got in, they got great seats and were all together but the game went into overtime and was really long so Ethan was exhausted!  But BYU won so that's great.

This isn't great quality but it's a video Ethan sent us of the craziness after the BYU win.

Father/Daughter Campout

The Elder's Quorum held a Father/Daughter campout activity at Pinto.  The girls were excited and Courtney got to go with Bryan on a campout.  They had a great time eating food, playing around, and just being out.  The dads were happy to do it and the girls want to do it again so I think Bryan may have started another tradition in our ward.  I am so happy about it and so glad that Courtney and Bryan got to go.

Soccer against Hurricane

The BEST part of this game had nothing to do with soccer.  If you know Courtney, you know that she hates bugs and especially hates ones that fly.  She went over to get a drink during the game and this happened...

I have never been so happy to have my camera at the ready in my life! Her face was priceless!  Any time I'm having a bad day, I'm just going to pull up the picture where she reacts to the bug and it will make me happy.

It was a pretty miserable game though.  It was 108 degrees at game time and the girls were dying in the sun!

Courtney got some Varsity playing time for this game!

Tan lines

For the first year, the coach had short sleeved shirts as their practice uniforms instead of tank tops.  Courtney tried with all her might to not get a funky tan line but it didn't work.  For practice and games, she would pull her sleeves up so she wouldn't have a farmer tan but she got something just as cool (hahaha).  She couldn't help the leg tan though.  But it had to be documented because it was so awesome!

Soccer against Cedar

The girls don't like playing in Cedar.  First off, it's not a turf field so the real grass always throws them off.  Second, the girls are a lot more aggressive and bigger than our girls so it makes for a really physical game. And third, there is always something that happens when we are there...snow, fires, rain, etc.  The game is always rough and this year was no exception.  They came away with a hard loss and beat up, but they will get them back when they play at home.

We were sitting right where the girls were warming up and Courtney wasn't happy that I was taking pictures.  Oh well.

The sunset on the drive home is always nice to look at though.

Thoughts

I love that Ethan is still sharing his testimony on Facebook even though he is home from his mission.  This was his thought for this week (which was probably an assignment from one of his religion classes, but I'll take it).

Soccer against Desert Hills

Snow Canyon also doesn't like Desert Hills.  Rumor has it that Desert Hills is already fundraising for their expenses to go to the championship game for state soccer.  So our team is ready to take them down.  It was a tough game.  Varsity won in overtime and it was a nail-biter.  But it was fun watching the girls play!

Courtney came home with some war wounds.  She played hard!
