Thanksgiving Holiday

Grandma and Grandpa Pack, David and Andrew came to our house for Thanksgiving!! And we had a TON of fun.

The kids were out of school on Wednesday, so we spent a few hours that morning making pies and getting beds all ready. Then we played. We went to the library, bought some last minute things and played outside. It was relaxing and fun.

Grandma and Grandpa Pack arrived after noon and we played with them. We went to the park, shot baskets, rode scooters and kicked around a soccer ball. After dinner we visited while waiting for David and Andrew to arrive. Actually, we went to bed while Grandma and Grandpa waited up for them.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and Bryan's birthday!!! We had a wonderful dinner (Grandma made the rolls for us) and then we played games and watched a lot of football.

Friday, we all went for a hike at a place about 2 miles from our house. There were Indian hieroglyphs. It turned into a rock scramble when we decided to try and get down by the river, but it was fun. We even saw a hawk. Pretty cool!

Saturday, we decided to go up the Red Mountain. We have never done a hike up this before but we know people who have so we decided to try it. We went up to the base of the mountain and found a TON of trails going up, but none of them were the right trail. After scrambling up the side of the mountain for a while we decided that, for safety reasons, we had better get down.

We ended up hiking to the Ivins Cemetery and back. While on our way back to the vans, we noticed a man and his son starting up the Red Mountain. We watched and noticed, for the first time, a trail. We spent the next 30 minutes or so watching their progress up the side of the Red Mountain. It looked steep but now we know where to begin.

Then Grandpa took us all out for ice cream at the Ice Box.

A lot of time was spent watching football (and BYU basketball). Bryan got a new game table for his birthday so games were set up on that most of the time...or a puzzle was on it. We ate way too much food and had a great time together.

David and Andrew went home Saturday night and Grandma and Grandpa went home Monday morning. It was fun having everyone come to our house for Thanksgiving.
