Courtney really enjoys running. She gets this from the Pack side of the family because Omans don't run...we hike...insanely long distances...all in one day...but moving on.
Courtney loves running the Ironman Kids Fun Run. They call them Ironkids. She has run the 200 meter distance each year and loves it. We went downtown, got Courtney all signed in, met up with Bryan and then flew kites (or tried to but the wind was weird) until it was time for the race.
Bryan took Courtney to the starting point. She mentioned that she wanted Bryan to run it with her so Ethan, David (Bryan's brother) and I went to find places near the "official Ironman finish line" so we could watch her run.
It seemed to take FOREVER before they were ready but then it was a huge mass of kid bodies running to the finish line. I had the video camera going and had my still camera in my hand ready to take a picture...but we never saw her. I kept watching for Bryan but couldn't see him. After a few minutes they were getting ready to start the 1 mile run kids and we thought something must have happened to her.
Ethan, David and I went to our pre-decided meeting point and there was Courtney drinking her Gaterade with Bryan and a medal was around her neck. She had run so fast that she left Bryan in the dust and we missed her completely!! David said it best when we couldn't see her that "Not all three of us could have missed her" but I guess we did.

Courtney's Last Soccer Game
Last Thursday was Courtney's last soccer game. She is hilarious on the soccer field!! During the first half she was a goalie and did a great job diving at the balls. She just loves to dive so even if she didn't NEED to dive for it, she still did! It was great.
She played in the field for the second half and was really good. She made 2 goals (one was really funny because she was kicking it the wrong way and almost took it the other team's goal before she turned it around and ran the entire length of the field to make a goal!) and almost made 2 others. She needs to learn to turn a little bit better, but she is really aggressive and has a lot of fun playing.
Their team was really good and they had a great time. They got a medal too and a creamsicle. She loved it and can't wait to sign up for KICKS in the fall to play another season of soccer.
Here are some photos. Courtney is #9.

Ethan's Last Soccer Game
Last Wednesday was Ethan's last soccer game for the season. He has a pretty good team and had a fun time playing with Brennon on the team.
He got a medal at the end and some goodies. He was happy it was over because he was tired! Here are some action shots of his last game. (I love the first picture because of the green guy's face.)

Courtney's Pedicure
Courtney wanted her toe nails painted and Ethan wanted to figure out how to do it so Bryan helped him paint her toe nails. She loved it, although she did throw a fit because her toe nails touched the toes next to them and smeared the polish. But we fixed it and she was fine. What a great brother to do this for her and what a great dad to take time out to teach Ethan how to do it.

Pack Meeting
Pack Meeting was at the end of April and they flew kites! It was great timing because the Kite Festival
had been the weekend before and the kids had earned kites by reading a certain number
of minutes the past few months.
After flying kites for a while they did the awards
ceremony. Ethan got some Arrow
Points. This was his last Pack Meeting as
a Bear. His birthday is soon so he will move
up. Then awards were given out for those
who flew kites. Ethan got the award for
the “Fastest in the Air” and Courtney was given the award for the “Cutest Kite.”
It was a fun time.

Cute kids
Courtney has a take-home book to read each night and sometimes we get so busy that she reads it in the morning. This morning was crazy and Bryan and I were busy getting things ready for the day. In comes Super Brother, as Courtney calls him. Ethan laid on the couch with Courtney and had her read to him. He helped her out when she couldn't sound out a word and he told her "great job" when she did well. It was cute.
Dance Pictures
Courtney had dance pictures taken last Saturday. We didn't want to get the individual photo this year because it's just extra money and I didn't like it all that much last year. This made our day MUCH shorter. The individual photos were at noon and the group pictures weren't until after 4 p.m.
We arrived at Ancestor Square in downtown St. George right before the photos were to begin for the Kindergarten through 2nd grade group. She was set to go and at exactly 4:20 (the time they were scheduled) the photographer took them off to take pictures. Each group was scheduled 20 minutes apart so they could have enough time. Apparently, the little girls were all there on time and the photo shoot for their class rook 8 minutes. I was chatting with another mom and didn't take pictures of my own because they were so quick. When I get the picture from the photographer I will scan it and post it.
Then we waited around for another 12 minutes until all the girls were ready for their big group photo. That photo is always crazy because you have to position everyone so their faces can be seen and there are A LOT of girls! But I think it will turn out cute!
Here is Courtney with two other girls from our ward. She loves these girls and always tries to "hang out" with them.
