Preference

Ethan has a fun day date with his Preference date. I wasn’t home so Courtney took the picture. They went to someone’s house and played games.  One of the games was cup pong and when someone got the balk in the cup, they would choose someone who would have to eat whatever was written on the bottom. Ethan’s date got a ball in and she chose him. They lifted the cup and it said “sardines.” Yuck!! But he ate them. They were covered with mustard. He said they weren’t so bad.

After lunch, they all came home to get ready for the dance. We got a tie to match the dates dress and I think it looks really good! Cute kids.

Science

If you wonder what Ethan does all the time at Success Academy, here is a little taste.  They do egg drops, design prosthetic legs out of PVC pipe, and build paper boats (more on that later).

Honor Society Dinner

Ethan is in the National Honor Society at Success Academy.  We had the award dinner at Dixie State University,  It's a nice dinner with a short ceremony where they are given their pin and their certificate.  Ethan doesn't like going to these things but I make him. ;)

Yes, I make him take a picture every year and he does the same goofy smile.  I let him because I love him and at least he is consistent.

Pulling Teeth

Courtney has funky teeth.  They didn't want to grow in and now they don't want to fall out.  She has 3 baby teeth left and one of them just isn't budging.  She was eating a fruit snack (of all things) when the tooth cracked in half.  The adult tooth is under it and erupted but the baby tooth doesn't want to let go.  I was nervous that food would get caught under there and erode the adult tooth so Ethan was trying to help her by pulling it.  But she was having a rough time letting him pull it.  He tried and tried but couldn't get it.

Courtney has an orthodontist appointment in May so we will see if he can, once again, pull out her tooth for her.

Paying Taxes

Since Ethan worked last summer, he paid taxes.  So when tax time came around, he needed to file his taxes.  He wasn't too enthused about it until we explained to him that he could get money back from the IRS.  Once he realized he could "stick it to the man" he was on board with filing.

Bryan had him do it online himself.  And it was hilarious!

He got everything back and was very happy to have done his taxes!

Spring Break in Denver

The stars aligned and we had Spring Break the same week Lisa's kids had Spring Break, so we all converged on Denver to party.  I was really nervous in the weeks leading up to our trip because they kept having avalanches on I-70 on the way to Denver.  But the weather was wonderful for our trip, so that was great!

It was cold when we got there but it didn't stop us from having a lot of fun!  Some of the things we did were:

Scavenger Hunt through downtown Denver and then dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.

Courtney and Bryan went skiing while Ethan and I babysat Bennett.

Ethan and Courtney built a snowman in a blizzard!

Courtney went rock climbing at the APEX with Grandpa.  She could do this for hours!

The kids went sledding.

It was a lot of fun!

Soccer camp

The Snow Canyon High men's soccer team sponsored a soccer camp.  Courtney and her team went to the camp and had a great time.  The first day they worked on skills and then the second day they had a tournament.

Courtney's team got second and her friend's team got first.  They had a fun time!
