Turkey Trot with Courtney

Before Thanksgiving Courtney's 3rd grade class combined with a Kindergarten class to perform the "Turkey Trot" for their families.  Courtney drove Ethan NUTS talking about this all the time.  We were pretty excited when the day finally arrived.

It was during the day so I was the only one able to go.  Each student had a part of a story to tell and Courtney had her line memorized and did a great job.

Then the students all did the Turkey Trot for us.  Courtney started out in the front but was slowly pushed backward until she ended up behind some other kids.  It was okay because she was still having fun!

When they all finished, they invited the audience onto the stage to do the Turkey Trot with them.  It was pretty fun.

Last year when they did this activity they didn't have any kind of refreshments afterward.  But Courtney's teacher decided they needed to have something fun for the kids to celebrate the season.  So I helped cut pumpkin pie and serve hot wassail and apple cider.  The kids had a great time and it was a fun start to the holiday season.
