He loves me!
I have a couple of these saved to my phone to prove that my teenager is a sweet kid and will tell me he loves me! (The green is me and the gray is Ethan.) I'm sure when Courtney is a teenager I will be saving hers too. ;)
Wrestling
This happens in our house a lot but this was during General Conference when they should have been listening. haha! They actually listened better than they ever have before and we think it as because we stayed at home to watch Conference instead of going to the Church. And we didn't force them to watch, they just came in when it was time to start without us asking them to come. It was great!
Sole Hope Fun Run
The Snow Canyon Middle School honors geography and honors language arts classes get together every year to do a global service project. Ethan is in both classes so he got a double dose. The service project that was chosen was for the Sole Hope foundation (Sole Hope website). They help people in Uganda fight jiggers by provided education and shoes made of jeans and milk jugs. The kids were split in groups of 5 and they were given the option of putting together a fundraising project to try and raise money to give to the Foundation.
Ethan's group came up with the idea of a fun run and, since I have organized fun runs before, they asked me for help. I sat down with Ethan and his friend and went over what they needed to do. The kids had 3 weeks to do their fun raiser and it was amazing the response they got. EVERYTHING was donated and they had great prizes for the raffle. And they ended up raising $2,100 (at last count) to give to the Foundation. It blew them away. Each group was given the goal of $100-200 to earn and they blew that out of the water. The teachers are now going to try and make it a yearly event because it did so well. The one teacher told me she didn't want them to do it at all because it wasn't going to make any money. She obviously hadn't been to a fun run in St. George before!

Toothpaste
Yes, I got sucked into the whitening toothpaste craze but that's okay because I have whiter teeth now!
My friend posted on Facebook about a toothpaste so I asked her about it and found out it was NuSkin. We used their toothpaste for a bit when I worked there and I love some of their other stuff. So I bought a tube to try. I was skeptical because I didn't remember it whitening my teeth before but oh well. And it worked!
So I decided to sign up as a distributor so I could get it at cost and see what would happen when I posted and tried to sell it myself. I made my first post in April and sold some tubes. It hasn't been "life changing" but it does give us a bit of fun money. I am also able to get the stuff I liked when I worked there (sole solutions for feet and marine mud face mask) for cost. BONUS!

Courtney had dance pictures. I thought it was kind of a weird spot (in the middle of a bike path) but they turned out really well. (We don't have all the pictures back from the photographer yet, but here are the ones we did and then some I took on my phone.)

Orchestra Festival
I went as a chaperone for the music festival the intermediate orchestra was invited to attend. It was in Hurricane at the high school. They did well and sounded really good.
They played the same songs as the night before in the concert so I won't post those again but this is the last song that they played all together. These are orchestras from all the cone sites in the School District so it was really cool!
Orchestra Concert
Once a year there is a "cone site" orchestra concert where all the schools in our cone site show off. It was great to hear how the Intermediate school orchestra stacks up with the older orchestras. They sounded great.
