Book Worm

Courtney loves to read. She had a great example in her big brother and so she seems to always have her head in a book.

Every summer I do a book club for Courtney and her friends. They love reading the books and doing activities.  This year we decided to read the 2015 Beehive Nominee picture books so the girls could get a head start on reading the nominee books. They get an award at school if they read all the picture and chapter books.

Yesterday we had our first book club meeting of the summer and Courtney's friends loved it. We read a hilarious book called "The Day the Crayons Quit."  We then did a science experiment melting crayons and filled in a crossword puzzle. Then it was time to go home. It was really fun!

Today was library day at the elementary school so we went to get more books and so Courtney could take some reading tests on the computer. She ended up taking 10 tests for books she has been reading! She has been a busy book worm. Because she reads books so fast, the librarian gave her 2 chapter books to read this week.

I needed to buy milk so we went to the grocery store on our way home. Courtney insisted on bringing a book into the store so she say in the cart and read. People thought it was cute!
