Hobbes

Ethan LOVES Calvin & Hobbes. When he can't find anything at the library that he would like to check out, he runs for the cartoon section and grabs a Calvin & Hobbes book. Bryan really loves them too and so I often find them both lying on the bed reading the book and laughing their heads off. Last night Bryan realized that Ethan really could be Calvin because Calvin's dad is (1) an attorney; (2) rides his bike to work; and (3) loves the outdoors. Oh no!!

Today Courtney and I were at DI taking a tour of the new Humanitarian section for ideas on how to get the women in our ward motivated to do some projects and we decided to take a swing by the toy section. Courtney immediately saw it: HOBBES!! Now, forget the fact that the "real Hobbes" is yellow and the one Courtney found is white. She found him and she wouldn't let him go. She wanted to buy him so badly for Ethan because "Ethan needs his own Hobbes, Mom!" After checking the price and deciding that $1.00 wasn't too much to make everyone in the family happy, we bought him and took him home. After a nice ride in the washing machine (which I'm sure there is a comic strip for in one of Ethan's books) and a fluff in the drier, he found a home on Ethan's bed and is waiting for Ethan to get home from school. This should be fun!
