Chicken

March and April are really windy times of the year in Ivins.  While the boys were on their backpacking trip we had a really strong wind storm in Ivins.  (They didn't feel it where they were at all!)  Our neighbor's tree had fallen down the day before so I was really nervous that our trees would crash into the house.

During the night, the power went out quite a few times.  Everything seemed to come back on just fine but the circuit breaker had tripped downstairs.  The fridge and the freezer didn't have power for a couple of days.  Luckily, we found out before a huge 30 pound box of chicken went bad.  Because you can't re-freeze chicken once it has thawed I ended up spending Monday bottling chicken.  It was crazy but I got all 30 pounds bottled and it ended up being 30 bottles.  Yeah!

I was lucky that it was pretty cool on the day I bottled because this raises the temperature in the house quite a lot!
